Editor MandelZoom-Demo M$-NIBBLES

The editor makes modifying and creating of maps really easy. You can download it in a separate package on the download-page. All my maps are now included in the nibbles-exe-package, but not in the source package!

joystick-support

vNibbles can use two different joystick-units. The one included in nibbles.exe is more reliable, but slower. If it should be too slow for you (check input rate by changing the line "testmode=0" in "nibbles.ini" to "testmode=1"), try using the second version. Both units are included in the source-package (see readme). A binary file with alternative joystick-support is included in the package, it is called nib_JoyA.exe

New in version 1.20 is the scoring system.
And some mouse-usage in the menues.

I. INFO

vNibbles is simply Nibbles for up to five players.
Think that everyone knows "Nibbles" (some call it "snake")...

II. MAPS

Editing the levels is easy - with the new vNibbles-Map-Editor it’s even
easier then before. But if you still want to know how the ASCII-files are
read by Nibbles have a closer look at the following...
Lines starting with "//" are comments.
You can define which colors to use:
"wall color=4" [0-7]
"background color=9" [8-15]
Everything in the following lines, that is not wall ([...])
or starting point ("1l", "2r", "3u", "4d", "1L", "1R",...), has no effect.
The letters tell the program in which directions the snakes should start
moving: [...]

III. JOYSTICK

joystick.pas (nibblesA) by Ronny Wester, ronny <at> rat.se
joystckb.pas (nibblesB) by te-wi Verlag, München

Thank you!

I included joystick support for use with my two (digital) gamepads,
but it is possible, to play with (analogous) joysticks, too. You might
have to fine-tune the calibration values in "nibbles.ini" (Some sticks
show momentary extremely high values, correct them to the "normal"
value). The source-code-package includes "nibbjoyA.pas" and
"nibbjoyB.pas". Depending on which you rename to "nibbljoy.pas"
eigther "joystick.pas" or "joystckB.pas" is being used by the game.
