Photos from my 2005 trip to Turkey. Like Siegfried Klausmann from Gleisnost I went there by train and ferry with stopovers in Basel (Switzerland), Milano, Ancona and Brindisi (Italy), and Çeşme (Turkey) . In İzmir I took a four week Turkish course. See Bruno Kaiser's Homepage for more great photos from there! Afterwards I still had a five day holiday in İstanbul.

A Hotel Near the StationBecause the tourist information closed early (5 p.m.) I could not find Milan's backpackers hostels and had to pay € 42 for a hotel room near the station. It was not in this hotel, though.

Ah... Gruelling TravellingThe airmat I'm lying on was given to me by some Australians I had met in Ancona. Thanks, it made my sea trip much more comfortable! But now I left it İzmir, because I already have one at home and wanted to travel light.
